THE ALEXANDRA AND AINSWORTH ESTATE
Welcome to the website of the Tenants and Residents Association of the Alexandra and Ainsworth Estate. This site is designed, built and updated entirely by people living on the Estate and we are constantly adding information and images.
The Alexandra and Ainsworth Estate is a special place. It comprises the striking Grade II* listed buildings (frequently incorrectly called Rowley Way (this the name of just one section of the estate) designed by Neave Brown along with the older red brick blocks. The design is breath taking, both the exteriors and interiors, there is a beautiful park on the estate, and a Tenants Hall that is increasingly busy with classes and activities.
The TRA and the community is very active. The Tenants Hall has a growing number of activities from yoga classes to judo, a new tenants run food cooperative, bee keeping (we’ll soon be making our own honey), dawn chorus walks, community picnics, an annual firework display plus lots more. The TRA is also busy representing residents in various ways – keeping the council on its toes in terms of repairs, improving the park area, organising events.
If you live on the Estate and have ideas about what you would like to have on this site, or if you would like to contribute please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We want this site to be of interest to the people on the estate and all over world who are interested in architecture and, in particular, the Grade II* listed part of the estate designed by Neave Brown. We have a gallery and history which we will be adding to over the coming months, as well as a film page.
