Most of the beautiful flats on the estate are still council which is fantastic, but of the 520 units on the listed part of the estate around 100 have now been bought and are owned privately. Flats on the estate are really sought after due to the wonderful design and the fantastic location and the estate is now home to a lovely diverse community with council tenants who have lived here for 30 years living beside architects (we seem to have dozens living here now). It’s fantastic having such a range of people who love living here and it really makes the atmosphere on the estate really warm and welcoming.
Here are some images of the interior of one of the two and three bedroom flats on Rowley Way. You can see some of the original features of the listed building with some beautiful touches. You can see more here.
Below are some images of the park on the estate. It is a designated conservation area and we will hopefully soon have funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to bring it back to its former glory. See item on the homepage for more on this.
